"I think that EPM may be responsible for making me into a real coach with a signature program and business person poised to change some singers lives!
""Hi my name is Jennifer and I have been a professional singer for 30+ years in the musical theatre and cruise ship industry. For a couple of years now I have been feeling like I want to create an online course for singers. It was a far off, vague idea for implementation one day... maybe... When covid hit the cruise industry my income stopped. Could now be the time? I was not ready! I knew I wanted to become yoga teacher certified so I could better teach the breathing techniques to singers, so I did that right away. I was casually looking for an online course creation course when I came across Marisa's add on Instagram. I had cruised other offers but something about this one struck me. I signed up for the webinar but when the date came I didn't have an email about it....I was disappointed! I must have put in my wrong email address.
A couple of weeks later it popped up again! I signed up again but this time made sure it was the right email address. I truly did not know what I was in for. The 6 hour webinar was jam packed with fun and great info. I got on a call with one of the mentors and she helped me make a huge shift to see myself as a course creator. So... I signed up. AGAIN I did not know what I was getting myself into! A little whim of an idea was becoming an actual thing! As I went through the exercises ideas and inspirations started to dawn. Through my first level of chatterboxing I recruited a few Pre Beta students to start trying my new techniques of my coaching strategy on. The shifts to see myself as a coach began by implementing getting started choices and continuing on even if it didn't quite make sense yet. Done is better than perfect became my new mantra. As a perfectionist, this was GOLD! As my students progressed and results became evident, my belief in myself grew.
I got stalled over Christmas when someone very close to me became suicidal and so I put my attention there. After falling behind my confidence wavered but I kept plugging into the calls and finally went on a blitz to catch up. The encouragement from coach Mark and my Wednesday group to simply take the next step helped me to clear the brain fog and release the pressure to be perfect. Watch the next video and take the next action and focusing only on that day made me feel like I could at least graduate. With about one week left, I had completed the Marketing module which for me was a total MindF*@K as I was not yet a business person or a marketer AT ALL!
I was used to showing up to my gig with a built in audience, doing my gig and leaving. The terror was real!! WHO AM I to be promoting myself??? Others are supposed to do that for me. Now I really have to believe in myself without others endorsing me! Step by step, lesson by lesson, the perception of market began to change. The fear lessened enough at times for me to chat with someone about what I was doing. I practiced with close friends who were very encouraging. This is the track I am on now as I have started chatterboxing to people who can actually use my help. I've done small things toward becoming a real coach with a real business that seemed huge and unattainable when this program began. I haven't made any dollahs yet but with the LYM teams incredible support I am laying a foundation and am on a track to having a successful business. This is NOT where I intended to be when I began as I saw it as sort of side project. I have been inspired to realize that I have created something of true value that can help a lot of singers.
I am so grateful to the whole LYM team for all that they do to inspire people to live their message. As Dr. Joe Dispenza says, ""In order to have a different life, you have to become someone new."" I am a different person that I was 3 months ago and I have you all to thank for that. You're incredible marketing and constant overdelivering to keep us on track enabled me to conquer the fear of moving into the unknown territory of being a business person. I am truly grateful, and astounded by all that you deliver. You set an incredible standard to follow and provide the best template of how I can serve others. There is still so much to learn and I will go at it one step at a time until the day I can look back at what I've done and be able to say ""Hey look! I have a business!! A real money-making client-serving business!!"" From an Instagram ad to business person in 12 weeks or less! Thank you, thank you, thank you for living your message to help us all!
Namaste! xo Jennifer"
What is your biggest takeaway from EPM?
Done is better than perfect. It may seem simple but I have stopped myself from bringing the many many many ideas, songs that I've written and creative ideas to life because I thought i had to know everything and be an expert before I executed on them. I released my album that I recorded 13 years ago after realizing that the fear and judgement may never go away, so I might as well just get it out there. I have prided myself on singing so well live that people think it's a recording. So putting out an album that has a few mistakes in it made my stomach churn at first....until the beautiful comments flooded in on FB. Why did I think people would be mean to me for putting out my work?? So crazy! (Well I know where those limiting beliefs came from, but I can still create and deliver even though those voices exist now.) One night while studying I got a song idea and wrote the whole thing that evening. Next step is to have it arranged and recorded. I am now allowing myself to put things out even if I don't think it's perfect. Next step it to start sharing my coaching program imperfectly with the world. Thank you.
How did EPM help you become successful?
Learning to take one step at a time and take imperfect action moved me beyond my perfectionist mindset. Done is better than perfect helped me to just try something, anything . Action truly does beget more action. i find we already have the answers in our mind but our resistance and fear that it is not good enough prevents us from taking action. Once we write things down or take an action we look back and realize that IT IS GOOD ENOUGH. I was just so busy judging myself to "keep myself safe and in my comfort zone" that I didn't allow myself to put it out there. Also the support form the coaches and the group helped immensely to stay on track. Knowing that others had similar challenges as I did made me feel like I was not alone.
