"I had been dreaming of creating my own online course for several years but somehow never got it off the ground. I was blocked by fears that my product wouldn't be good enough and doubts that anybody would buy it. On top of it all, I was a hopeless perfectionist and everything took forever. Creating an online course seemed like such a monstrous task, even the thought overwhelmed me. So, I just procrastinated and felt more and more like a failure. I joined EPM because the experience formula resonated with you. I teach people the skills they need to escape from low self-worth and it is a long-term thing. People need to stick with it to get real results and creating an experienced product seemed the right way to go.
The most important things I learned from EPM (despite the experience formula and how to apply it to my online courses) were the changes I went through regarding my content creation and marketing mindsets. I could finally let go of the fear and perfectionism and see everything as a step towards awesome, rather than expecting every bit of content I created to be absolutely 100% perfect. It's a lot of pressure to have to produce perfect stuff all the time. And it's not possible. Which always made me feel like a failure. I now operate from a "good enough, for now, improve later if required" mindset which is less stress and much, much more progress.
At this point, I have hit my minimum target but my perfect email campaign is yet to start. My course is 25% built (yes, I have a set-by-step, day-by-day, task-by-task list and I give myself XPs for every task :)) which is more than I would have ever imagined. My marketing materials are all waiting to go and, despite the "opt for good enough rather than perfect" approach, I am very happy with them. I feel like I have finally broken through the paralysis that came from not knowing what to do and wanting everything to be perfect and am actually moving forward. Which is really exciting!"
What specifically did you do to experiencify your program? Give us an example of a core experience you implemented in your product.
I have set my course up in Xperiencify, have made sure I incorporate normalizing challenges and peak emotional experiences into all training and try to build unstoppable momentum through small action steps that build upon each other.
What is your biggest takeaway from EPM?
There are so many! Not sure I can choose just one. But I now live by "better done than perfect" and "iterate your way to awesome".
How has EPM and your success impacted your life?
While my business was so far somewhat of a pipe dream, I can now see that it has legs, it can walk. And eventually, it may even be able to sustain e and my family and allow me to leave my soul-sucking job in academia.
What has been the biggest change in your business?
I finally actually move forward rather than being stuck in lots of theoretical plans so everything can be perfect while never taking action...which doesn't get you anywhere, ever.
What is now possible for you because of your Experience Product?
What is possible will reveal itself in due course I believe but I have hope now that I can make this work as a business and be able to leave my day job which sucks the life and joy out of me every time I sit down to do it. I can now actually dare to dream of a life where I decide what I do when. And prioritize the things I love to do, rather than squeeze them into the tiny gaps between all the things I have to do (but actually hate).
