I've completed all three modules and by the end of tonight, will have tagged my coach for the last two Optional Supercharge Milestones.
I had been procrastinating on developing my course for about five years and it's been more than 10 years since I first had the idea of going into business online. Although I'd taken another course, identified my target niche, written my product origin story and have been paying $47/month for a CRM (that I don't use) and hosting platform, I got stuck at the course development stage and never finished the introductory module.
Like Marisa's story of her first course, the introductory module kept getting bigger and I felt paralized. I had no idea how how to finish it, let alone how I was going to attract anyone to the course.
I joined LYM and learned that I was putting the cart before the horse, and I should start the marketing process and pre-selling the course to prove the concept first! What an eye-opener. Doing that led me to join nearly 30 FB groups in my target niche, and I learned that there are many competitors serving that market, including the founder of an extremely well-researched and successful method which is only slightly different from what I was planning to do. While initially daunted by the discovery, I decided that was actually GOOD NEWS because my concept has already been proven AND I now have a model for organizing and finishing my course.
Although I haven't yet been able to get (much less complete) even one sales call, I've been able to engage with many people in those FB groups and my posts are beginning to get traction. I have one very warm lead and a plan for moving forward. I've created a sales page and I'm about halfway through creating a free webinar that I'm going to start offering and delivering as soon as it's ready. I'm confident that I'll not only be able to get that first sale, my next three sales and, once I launch my MVP, a whole lot more, but that I'll also be able to replicate the process with new courses.
Special thanks to Marisa, Erin, Coaches Jack, Mel and Matt and my classmates for your help, support and encouragement!
