Your GRADUATION Story
I knew I had something to share after having lived in Italy for 33 years and having worked in real estate for the last 12, specializing over the last few years in helping Americans make their move to Italy. I wanted to be able to move away from the day-to-day and create an online course that would give others the confidence to make the move to Italy, having a clearer idea of what to expect and how to integrate better and thus enjoy the experience more. I definitely had no idea where to start and balancing a course creation with my ongoing business was quite challenging. I joined EPM and had so many realizations! One of the biggest ones was that it didn't have to all be perfect and worked out, I could learn and improve as I was bringing my course out there. This was a revelation for me! I've gotten so thrown off track in the past or just altogher gave up because of not being able to produce something complete before beginning my marketing. I prepared the course, the feedback from our pod and our weekly coach meetings were fundamental in understanding where and how to make 15° pivots. I'm still in the process of creating this since I realized I may have overshot and tried to do too much at once. But I wouldn't have had the courage and insight to continue without this course which has given me so much information and so much more clarity on how to move forward.
Your MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Story
I was terrified of "putting myself out there" and sharing with everyone that I was doing something different from my normal business. I suppose I was lucky in that the first people to sign up for the conversation call were people I knew from my past (high schoo!). That didn't make me any less nervous. Once I finally pushed my way through it and even "asked for the money" - I didn't get a sale, but I realized that the true nervousness was coming from having overshot - I didn't know how I was going to fit a six week course into my already very busy schedule and therefore, I found a way to self-sabotage. In essence though, I've understood that it makes more sense to come up with a smaller "mini course" and let people "try on for size" what I'm offering and move their way up to a bigger commitment and investment - and that allows me to do the same!
I have a clearer picture of where my next business can be EPM has given me so many more tools than I knew were even possible AND has showed me that imperfect action is what will eventually lead to my success. Every experience that I have had can be of use to someone else and with all of these options on how to "package" them, there are infinite opportunities out there to be had! I can rethink my future business, not just in one direction, but in many small directions, which may actually pivot along the way and turn into something even bigger and better than I could imagine from where I'm standing today!
