Your GRADUATION Story
I was setting up a publishing company, with the plan of doing self publishing and helping some Filipino friends also do the same. I have been living mainly in the Philippines for many years. I signed up for a course that seemed very comprehensive run by a couple of young men. I soon realized that the help they talked about was nearly non-existent for me. They said no technical skills required, but they evidently don't consider any computer skills as being technical. So I was struggling with the course and decided the first thing I would publish was a complete remaking of their course. Only when I did it, I would cover all the little technical aspects of using software required and how to move around inside sites like Amazon looking at their analytics. So writing a course was on my to do list. I eventually quit even going to the course site for anything. When asking questions to support, The standard answer was "post it in the forum, someone will answer your questions." Of course this was not true because my questions were normally about the software I needed to use. So that went idle for about a year. A couple of my Filipino friends were really desperate for income. One had been laid off and the other just could not live on the net paycheck. This pushed me to do more searching to get the knowledge to crank up the self-publishing idea again to help my friends. So I was spending a lot of time on Utube. From there I ultimate found Marisa's EPM course. So I signed up. I thought besides helping me get the course I wanted to do done, much of the grunt work was similar like finding the right niche for topics that should be profitable. I also found the course to be a little challenging, but oh the difference when I contacted the support folks. They were right on it. Within 24 hours I had clear concise answers to my question. Even live links to follow for more information . I had a lot of problems which were not from the course but due to many things in my life getting turned upside down. A forced move, a crazy road trip 4 days long, driving on roads not fit for tanks much less cars. Up and down mountains on sometime less than 1 lane roads at night with no lights because it was going through a jungle. Most of the trip I was without phone signals or WIFI. When I did get a signal, I would try to get a milestone off to my coach. He was great, doing everything possible to make it easier to communicate with him. During this time I was also operating mostly one armed. I had ripped my shoulder to a point where some of the muscles that connected to the rotator cuff were completely disconnected because the tendons were torn in half. The rotator cuff is also torn up. So between the move, the road trip through the jungle, or on a ferry in my car going from one island to another trying to get to my destination. Here and there, I fell behind because of no internet access. But seemed for a while, I would just make it somewhere where I had a signal and could road more sessions and get milestones off to my coach. But my luck ran out and I hit a dry spell for catching some WIFI and I missed a couple of milestone deadlines. So be it I said. the loss of the guarantee would be a wrinkle in my finances but no more. I was ready to quit a couple of times when my coach (Coach Ed Dale) would remind me that I was getting things done and done right. He pushed me to continue with the course. So, once I got to my Island of choice to live, I moved into an Airbnb advertising fiber optic connections. I have since found out everyone is this city hates that carrier as they are totally unreliable. But you have little choice other than to use data off your phone service which can get very expensive if you stream or spend a lot of time on line. So long story short, I eventually moved out of the Airbnb and into a house of my liking. (except the crappy internet service) I am now looking for a dealer to purchase a Star-Link system. I'll do whatever it takes to get up and running on line with reliable internet. The course has taught me that there are some specific things that are very important in having an online course. They know what they are and teach them to you. I learned the old way of teaching is no longer valid. I guess that 100 year run of lecture, memorize, lecture memorize finely got pushed aside and the new techniques are being discovered. One shoe fits all just doesn't work anymore. Because I was so far behind for a while and the fact that I really have no friends only a few acquaintences I felt the chatterbox system would be useless to me. Especially moving to an entire different Island that I had never lived on and only had a couple of 2-3 day visits to. So I spent my time catching up on the sessions in each module that I was behind in. The course forced me to reconsider chatterboxing. I did know two people here on the island so I wasn't totally isolated. I didn't get enough use to even think about the contest or meeting the required chats in order to get some serious conversations going. But I still have a couple days left. I actually have one American expat that overheard me talking to the one guy I know best, (still only a few conversations even with him about anything) But the guy made a comment when he walked by that he thought Hypnosis was very interesting. We agreed to meet tomorrow in a popular coffee shop. I will see where it goes. There are so few people who can afford the course. I may make a "special price" for some of the locals just to see if any will take me up on it. I have 3 days to see what I can do. If I get positive results I will tell you about it in the Mission Accomplished Story.
I now feel I will be able to start the first revenue stream since I started working on it. the success of completing the course has got me jumping back into doing what needs to be done. You can learn things, no matter how old, if you have the right attitude and right teacher This will move me toward my real course I want to get on the market.
