Your GRADUATION Story
I was having thoughts of starting back, working with Hypnosis. The problem was that I did not want to go back into a Clinic-type situation. I wasn't sure what to do because that required a lot more time and effort like going back to work at a job job. Then while digging around in an old box of educational books, VHS recordings, and cassettes, It came to me. I will start teaching hypnosis again. But more issues came up. I lived in the country, had retired 15 years ago, and had lived more like a hermit than anything else. How would I start up a class? I found some old courses I previously taught in the classroom. The material is still valid, but how and where to set up shop was another problem. Then it hit me, everything is online. I watch many YouTube instructional videos. Why not do an online course? It just happened that I stumbled into this course and reviewed the information about the course. The coaching is what caught my eye the most. I was 20 years behind in software which is why I stopped even trying to work with a computer. Could they help me through this? I ask that question in their support center. I was assured they had things in place to take care of technical issues. I also have not kept up with inflation, at least mentally. I looked at the price and about had a heart attack. But the more I thought about it I realized if they can charge that price for this course, what could I charge for mine? I have never been afraid to invest in educational classes before, it had just been a very long time ago. I decided I wanted to do this so signed up for the EPM course. I didn't realize this new way of teaching courses. I was old school, I used chalkboards, flip charts, and a lot of lectures in the old days. I talked, and they listened. I did however use a lot of practice doing things. I learned that doesn't work anymore. The idea of taking a page out of the book gaming companies used was magic. I would have never thought of that. Although I don't play computer games, I could understand the psychology behind the idea. I had a rough time almost all the way through the course. Not because of the course content but because my life was turned upside down. It started with having to move on very short notice out of the rental I was living in. This created major problems. First, understand, I live in the Philippines. Things don't operate like they do in the West. I had to do something with my household goods. There are no storage units on every corner here. I ended up renting a very small house just to use as a storage room. My possessions are still there. Moving that stuff to where I am now is a 4-day truck trip, and it is not cheap. I decided to search for a rental I liked instead of taking just something that would do. It took me a month but found a place I felt I could be happy with. One main issue was WIFI. I thought that would not be a problem because the house was already set up for fiber optic cable, All that was needed was to turn it on with the company that owned it. After 9 days of living here, the WIFI has been working about 30% of the time. So I battle for the internet daily. I am now looking for a dealer to buy a STAR-LINK system. It is expensive, but I must have solid internet access. The coach is the hero in this story. With all the setbacks and lack of communication for sometimes days at a time, he stuck with me. I was ready to give up a few times, but he kept me going by continuing to remind me of the good work I was doing. So, I kept at it. One by One, I met the milestones and finished the course. If you have ever seen a 76-year-old man dance a jig, then you know what I looked like when I saw these words: "YOU DID IT, YOU GRADUATED'" come across in an email. I now look forward to other courses I may sign up for through this company. I still have some medical issues I must take care of. I'll be flying to Thailand for a second opinion and hopefully a much more positive response to what can be done for me. My joints are failing one right after the other. This time it is the Left shoulder that has torn itself up. Last year it was the right shoulder. Hopefully results on the left will be better. the surgery on the right failed and I still have a torn up rotator cuff. I can't do both at the same time as rehab is a long process after surgery, but if they can fix one, they should be able to fix the other on another trip. Once I return I will be digging into the upper level modules of this course I just finished, as it was a 2 track course. One for beginners like me to online course delivery and one for those already in the business but want Marisa's secret sauce for their courses. I will also then be able to schedule classes and start teaching this course again after way too many years.
It is a lot closer to becoming a reality. Has just been a shell waiting to do something. I see new hope for my next venture, that give me a reason to keep on living. I am way outdated, But with the help of courses like this, I'll catch up I have a framework to build whatever courses I want and know they should be successful.
Just that this course and company have made me realize there are still some good things going on. Not many positive events have been going on in the last few years.
