Your GRADUATION Story
"I had a detailed vision of a course suite and online community developing in my mind that I want to create, and I knew I wanted to gamify my courses within that course suite because I had experienced how cool gamification was on a Skool community.
A friend pointed me to Xperiencify as the top of the line in gamified LMS platforms, and I discovered it could do 99% of what I had in mind. I purchased a lifetime account with XPeriencify.
But then I realized that just because I had the software, that didn't mean I knew how to design an optimized, gamified course experience. I listened to Marisa to learn all I could in her free webinars and summit leading up to EPM. I really didn't want to buy any more coaching services, as I was totally done with coaches after my prior coaching experiences over the prior four years. But I fell in love with Marisa's authenticity. I was impressed by the fact that she had so many spiritual-niche clients, and at least some of them had very healthy success selling their XP products. And I knew that I could not build an effective experience product without experiencing one as a user first. So I joined EPM to learn the art of creating an awesome Experience Product.
In choosing to enroll in EPM, I enrolled fully in the process. I accepted the mission to design, launch, and profit from an Experience Product in 12 weeks or less. I felt so empowered and successful in the step-by-step structure of how EPM is laid out. I was ON FIRE!!! and saying YES with my whole being.
I had previously marketed (and sold to two people) a course about creating heartfelt intimacy and deep spiritual connection in your relationship every day, even if your partner doesn't relate to your spiritual perspective. My two students were a perfect fit but a third person who decided to work privately for a while instead of the class, was not a great fit. He never did any of the exercises I gave him. And he was very attached to a highly dysfunctional relationship with a partner who didn't want to work on anything with him. I didn't realize we poorly fit for working together until after the seventh session when he abruptly discontinued. This brought up some conflicts in me, and I took it kinda hard. So when it came to EPM, I thought: I don't want to do a relationship offer with people who don't really want the spiritual approach I'm teaching. So in EPM, I first designed a product that offered to show people how to connect with Divine Love energy within... a purely spiritual offer. That would be my front door. Then whoever chose to pass through that door, I would offer a relationship offer to second. That was my thinking. But engaging on social media proved that people appreciated my course idea but weren't motivated to lean in.
Meanwhile, on Mondays with Marisa, Marisa talked about how entrepreneurs make the mistake of throwing something out when it doesn't work when what they really need to do is a 15 degree pivot. I thought about my previous relationship niche. Hmmm. Why did I throw that out?
So I pivoted back to a relationship offer. But I thought, this time, I'll create an offer to help people get into a relationship with the right person!! That's how I'll avoid dealing with people who want to save relationships with wrong-fit partners that they just can't win with no matter what they do! I'll be the parent!! LOL.
Chatterboxing revealed that people feel like they are adults who can take care of themselves and they don't really need someone to help them choose a right-fit partner.
I was distressed that I was getting behind on my EPM deadlines to still qualify for the guarantee with all this pivoting going on. But the value of this chatterboxing for market research feedback, was undeniable. The fifteen degree pivot came back to me again as well. I realized that I was being silly trying to start from scratch again. I had a course that I sold in early 2023. What I really needed to do was take that course and tweak it based on all I learned from running it and all I learned from EPM. Now I was unable to meet all the requirements for the EPM guarantee. But I felt like I got something much more valuable than that. The simple understanding that I should not throw out my course that I sold to two people but should instead just tweak it and move forward with it, and then discover, tweak, and move forward again... That was completely worth the price of admission. As we rounded into 2024, I let go of the guarantee (even though it served me well to keep me taking massive action and learning fast) and simply felt deep gratitude for the years EPM saved me by showing me that.
It's so very interesting. I embraced the EPM mission and strove valiantly to accomplish it: design, launch, and profit from in 12 weeks or less. But in the end, the real value that I got is summed up in two concepts: ""15 degree pivot"" and ""chatterbox to market test quickly."" Because of being real in my process of discovery, which ended up entailing two pivots in response to market feedback (and my own ah-hahs about not throwing out a good start), I failed to accomplish the mission I set out to accomplish; but what I got was so much more valuable. I got a deep understanding of how to create a really solid start, and then build on that solid start. And I am happy!! I see that the real lessons I got in EPM are more valuable to me in the long term and will help me make more money and impact sooner than if I had a simpler, more streamlined experience in EPM that resulted in profit during the EPM timeline. Zero disappointment over here; only gratitude. Because I feel so solid and resilient with the foundation I gained in EPM with those two principles. I am way more unstoppable now than I was before this EPM experience. (And the Momentum continues...) Thank you."
