Goal 2: Made My First Sale
My world started blowing up one week after I joined the EPM. I wasn’t sure what to do as one time and energy sucking event after the next consumed my world. I was so behind by the last few weeks that I thought I'd never be able to graduate. I joined a coaching call with Marisa and she shared a whole new way to look at "being behind". I realized that I would forever regret not stepping up to see if I could reach the end game. So I pulled up my big girl pants and put my nose to the grindstone. I finally finished my last section the day before the program ended and will be receiving my red wings and EMP logo!
I had been struggling for two years to move forward on my product, but I just couldn't' fire up to move forward. I wasn’t sure what to do and was haunted by a fear of failure. I joined EMP and learned how MVP could help me launch a product without all the fuss that had been intimidating me. I realized that moving forward with good and then iterating to awesome was the exact right plan to help me. I worked through the EMP process and after 12 weeks, I had a brought my idea to life, created my program, and was ready to bring my product to market.
I was struggling to engage people in conversations about my product. I wasn't sure what to do because every time I hit the wall, it crushed my confidence. I initiated a conversation with my EMP coach and he gave me both a path and the encouragement I needed to step into a conversation. I discovered that simply being direct was better than beating around the bush, so I approached a former Leadership Academy student, told her about the program and exactly how it could her forward from where we left off in the LA. She was leaving her job and didn't have the full tuition, so I offered a discounted price because of my beta launch and designed a payment plan for her. She accepted and I made my first sale!
I was feeling insecure about my product after having worked so hard on it. I wasn’t sure people would buy it because I was second guessing myself. I joined EMP and discovered the Beta test approach. I used a reduced price for the beta commitment and was able to make my first sale.
I am learning how to move forward quickly using the MVP approach.
