"In October last year I had an argument with myself.
One part of me was about to drop a considerable amount of money on a course that would assist me in resurrecting my coaching practice in order to help empty nest women wondering 'what's next?' I've always coached the niche that I'm in, it helps me and it helps others.
The other part of me was like No! It's scary! Go hide! Don't commit! What if it doesn't work out? What if you tell people you're doing it and you have to be accountable? What if you waste money? The devil I know isn't great, but I feel comfortable here!
It was nerve-wracking pressing that submit button for payment, and afterwards I had to go have a glass of wine I was so nervous. Don't worry, it was actually wine time!
Fast forward fourteen weeks, I have graduated from the course, I am working again with women, now in the empty nest niche, I have written a 6 week program, I've got the material for a new eBook, and I have decided to launch an affordable membership site for empty nest women which will provide weekly group coaching calls and a new theme with material each month. I have sold one course at a Beta price, but the VALUE gained from doing so with this woman has been immeasurable.
Most of all, I've grown as a person. Cliched, yes, but true. My husband has even noticed it, which means a lot to me. There were times when I just wanted to throw in the towel, there were times when I was in the depths of despair thinking I'd taken on too much.
There were times when I was paralyzed with confusion and fear. I became a bit of a hermit and closed myself off from my friends so I could get it all done. And all through that I kept going. I kept going WHEN. IT. WAS. SO. HARD.
There were so many times when I thought 'Who am I to do this? Who wants to hear from me? What do I know?' But then, a couple of people who had known me for a long time, along with my higher self (who often gets so tired of my drama) said 'Who are you NOT to do this?'
A long time ago I wrote a quote: Find joy, by your own means, in your own way, that is good for you and harmless to your world.
Helping women is my joy. I'm wasting my time here if I'm not following my joy.
So that's been me for the last few months. I'm glad life pushed me into something perceived as hard, scary, overwhelming. It's only in that space that we can GROW. "
