Here's a rough draft: I self-published my first book in 1994, loved having the control, and kept doing it. When Big Publishing failed and self-publishing took off (2008), authors started coming to me for advice. I had to start holding workshops (Self-Pub Boot Camp) just to keep up with demand. I was first to connect with industry leaders and services developers, created an educational program for authors and a consulting business for the industry, speak at conferences, write blogs and books about it. It's hard to choose a single biggest takeaway from EPM, but I think that the processes all drove me to a mindset shift about what I was capable of achieving in with the amount of time and energy a human has to expend.
