Paul Lee (class of 2021)

Prior to taking the Experience Product Masterclass I had problems with figuring out: exactly what my product was; who my target market was; and even more challenging problem: how to find them. But with the help of Marisa, Coach Uwe, Emily, Matthew and the incredible community of fellow course participants I engaged with, I was able to overcome those barriers to create a "Clear, Concise and Compelling" vision of my message to a clearly identified market. I made my first sale and am confident of more due to the simple, effective techniques that this course has introduced. The level of engagement from the coaches has been beyond all expectations. The energy, the laser-like focus and the genuine interest in my success has blown me away. I can only say thanks for helping me solve problems that have dogged me these last twenty years or more.

What has been the biggest change in your business?
I have great energy and enthusiasm for the training I offer, but I've had great difficulty in finding markets and selling. I wasn't focussed on customer engagement or satisfaction, alway chasing new business. Those issues are now very well addressed in the course and I feel confident that I've overcome the issues.

How has EPM and your success impacted your life?
For the first time in years I'm hopeful of growth and success in my business and in life. This certainly looks like the path that leads me to my goals.

What is your biggest takeaway from EPM?
Connection with my audience is the number one issue to solve. That is the most clear message of all.

What is now possible for you because of your Experience Product?
I now have targets to aim for. These targets are clear and identified.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you so much for all the incredible efforts of you and your staff. I'll definitely be here for the long haul.

I have had an integrative psychiatry practice for 19 years. All those years I have searched for "that thing" that would really transform my patients which also lined up with my Zone of Genius (although I did not know it was called that until recently). After searching high and low, I realized that I was meant to teach people an easy way to connect their feelings with underlying needs, manage their emotions, and use universal truths to communicate their feelings and needs effectively and peacefully. For as long as I can remember, I would hear people interact in ways that created unnecessary pain because they were never taught basic empowered communication skills. Teaching online classes would be a huge pivot for me compared to the 1:1 format with which I was accustomed. My first round of EPM in 2020 yielded a successful class (by my standards), Transform Your Fiery Emotions of Frustration and Anger. The bar was low. Enlisting 10 patients was an incredible result for me. I marketed this product under my private practice name, Mindful Medicine, Inc. My goal, however, was to develop and market my online courses to NON-patients under Emotionally Powered 4 Life, LLC. These are skills that most people have not learned and would create much more ease in their lives. I needed another course with front door needs that would appeal to the general public so I could address these back door needs. I needed another round of EPM. The Live EPM was starting, which I had not experienced in 2020, and two of my friends were also signing up, again. I joined EPM 2021. During these 12 weeks I learned to have compassion for myself and the process, especially when I had to delay the course delivery date until March 8th. I learned that I need to be more proactive in carving out time for this new product and for marketing. I learned that I need some business coaching and a healthcare attorney for clarity about providing non-psychiatric services and a proper consent. I learned that I still have a lone-wolf mentality and would have gained more benefit by embracing the EPM community for feedback. I learned the value of repeat students as my first sale was with a student from my last class. I learned that earn while you learn model is not the best fit for where I am in my product development. I learned that the power of chatter-boxing even in a small way with the right person can lead to an unexpected sale. I learned to pick and choose the videos to watch-- not many-- and how to focus my time for the results I needed now with the time that was available to me.

Your GRADUATION Story
Although I'd already written much of my course content I was feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of having to actually create it. It seemed like I had too much information to share, and the previous course provider I'd used wasn't really working for me as it seemed slow and unwieldy and boring. I joined EPM to get a new perspective and some fresh ideas and boy, did it deliver!! I completely restructured my program and cut it right down to create the MVP which I can then build on in the future to finish my high-ticket offer. After years of studying and training with other people, this program has given me more clarity and confidence than I've ever had before. Now all I need to do is provide you with the content to set the course all up for me and it will be all systems go!

I was feeling challenged by the task of converting an existing course I had been delivering 1:1 and 1:few into a 1:many program. I knew it would be a major undertaking, involving a significant investment of my time, energy, and resources, so I wanted to make sure that I was on the most effective and efficient path to achieving that. That is why I signed up for the Experience Product Masterclass and learned Marisa’s step-by-step system for creating an experience product. From the very first Zoom call I joined, I was blown away by Marisa’s incredible knowledge, erudite thinking, inspired guidance, and above all her genuineness and HEART that she infuses into every moment of the learning experience. Through EPM I was able to organise my thinking into logical chunks, which is my preferred mode of working, and create a roadmap to successfully launch my experience product, the Personal Brand Playbook: How to tell your brand story and profit from your name, image and likeness, aimed at US college student-athletes. The key to achieving my “and much much more” goal was to shift my thinking from targetting single clients, to selling bulk licenses. With astute feedback from Coach Matthew, I was able to craft a compelling offer and a plan for marketing it. Creating my sales list was easy because my targets (US college athletic departments) have publically listed contact information. I started out doing surveys of segments of that list to gather market data and used those insights to craft the sales pivots. Then I started chatterboxing through my immediate circle of personal contacts at US colleges, and expanded the chatterboxing using the target list. Every person I spoke with was interested in the topic on some level, even if they were not the correct people to make the buying decision. So far, from all the chatterboxing I made one bulk sale for $9,940, and feel confident that several of the schools I have been chatterboxing with will also purchase my experience product in the coming weeks and months. Thank you SO MUCH Marisa and all of the hardworking team at Live Your Message.

I was having a problem with my self confidence when it came to developing my coaching course. I had clients, but when it came to building a course, I just froze up. It didn't help that the clients I signed up for 1:1 coaching just weren't a good fit, and I started dreading the coaching sessions! (It really didn't matter how much I was getting paid) I attended Marisa's free sessions about building Experience Products, and loved the idea, and thought about joining. My coach, outside of EPM, said I didn't need it - of course. My husband also said that I was just, as usual, trying to run away from building my courses by having another distraction. But, he ultimately left the decision up to me. I joined, and loved the coaching pod discussions and made some great new friends. I did have some issues with my Pod Coach, so I didn't get past my Mission Statement with her. I even used specific wording that Marisa used with someone else who had a very similar business coaching multi-passionates, but my coach was determined I should use anything other than "multi-passionate." In my research, both in the groups I'm in, with my own email list (2500) etc, most of the people I've talked to are familiar with that term. My coach refused to accept it. She kept coming back with "multi-focused" or "multi-talented" and then started taking exception to my use of "women" and wanted me to change it to "females" which didn't flow. I tried a couple times to email her, but didn't get a response, so I just let that part go. Because I couldn't get past even Milestone 3 by the due date ~ which was up to the coach, not me ~ my whole money back guarantee was out the window. I didn't realize that I could go on past her and just keep submitting, even if she hadn't checked off, which I suppose would have protected my investment. But I wanted to really understand the process! I just couldn't wrap my mind around why she had such an issue with my wording, until the deadline had passed and it was too late. I did enjoy listening to Marisa, but didn't get a chance to be in the hot seat coaching. I would have loved that chance, and perhaps it would have helped me get past the hurdle with my coach. Finally, I just stopped going to the pod calls, Marisa's calls, etc. But, I really did learn something! I DO know how to build a course, I do know how to help people, and I know how to engage people, and in the end I realized I chatterbox with people as naturally as breathing. I have people excited to sign up for my 90 day course, and know that I will give them what they need. It was suggested that I should contact someone at support to let them know about my issues with the coach, but I'm just one person out of how every many she had to coach. Plenty of other people did just fine with her. It does seem that when I stopped doing any of the work she could have reached out. Maybe I think that because that is the kind of coach I am. I shouldn't expect that level of service from everyone else.

Your MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Story
The last two years were devastating for my business. I was making six figures creating interactive events for Fortune 100 & 500 clients. When Covid hit in March of 2020, my business came to a screeching halt. I needed to find another income stream that would tap into my life lessons, skills, and passions. I joined EPM in the hopes that I would get a little bit of guidance and direction about how to put together a course. BOY, WAS I WRONG! I got more than I bargained for, a lot more. The modules and sessions were very professional and helpful but the coaching was invaluable! Coach Uwe was the jewel in the crown. He helped me to see possibilities I didn't recognize and his talent for focusing on what is important is fabulous. I was moving right along but lost my voice just as I was ready to start chatterboxing. Since my true talent is in the spoken word, this was a bit of a setback for me. I had to push the launch of my class back and communicate via email and text. In spite of that, I have one person committed to taking the course and now that I have my voice back, I have no doubt I can onboard many more.

I'm a little concerned, because I've already completed a lengthy survey. I was returning to check my answers and can't find anything... Please tell me if you're unable to find my answers and I'll re-create them. I put a lot of time and effort into my submission. Thank you.

I'd recently changed my niche to help widowed women find love again. I am an experienced coach, but get frustrated when it comes to marketing and distilling my message. I joined EPM, because my experience with Marisa and coach Debra was so impactful. I've bought a lot of programs, but ever since I discovered Marisa, I feel like I've won the lottery. Marisa and her coaches do what they say they're going to do, and over-deliver every time. EPM takes the overwhelm out of creation, because you create wins a little bit at a time. At the end of 12 short weeks, I've now designed my experience course and content for my group. I've launched an MVP and am helping widows not settle for their new normal, and find love again so they can share a future that's waaay better than they could have imagined. That's what you'll think of EPM - it will help you create a future waaay better than you've imagined! Thanks Marisa, coach Debra and EPM team!

What has been the biggest change in your business?
I've gained clarity and distilled my message. I've taken action on the difficult components.

How has EPM and your success impacted your life?
I'm creating a course that's been a dream until now. I'm so proud of what I've done, and know now that I can help widows to move forward, not settle for their new normal, and find love again. I'm so excited for what the future holds. EPM is the best way to gain confidence while creating your course and validating your ideas. So many gold nuggets in the content, brilliant insights from Marisa, tech calls with Matthew and Emily, and top-notch support, care and insight from Debra.

What is your biggest takeaway from EPM?
As a recovering perfectionist, I'm learning to apply the knowledge I have and create an MVP - a minimum viable product. My experience and wisdom does no one good if it remains in my head. What I found in EPM was awesome content, world class coaches and a supportive group of entrepreneurs (and a few who've become friends). I didn't feel alone anymore, and that what I felt and was going through was normal.

What is now possible for you because of your Experience Product?
Creating my Experience Product is the pathway to helping hundreds, hopefully thousands, of widows move forward with confidence, find new love and share a future they can get excited about. My dream of helping other widows to feel better and create a magical community of widows, encouraging one another to go forward and take steps that may scare them, will be realized. I can now see a pathway to freedom and creating the income I desire through my coaching. I can now move forward and create a plan for how to structure my business and create my next offer.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
These past 12 weeks weren't the easiest time to show up for EPM, but I made a promise to myself and kept going. Like so many others during these unprecedented times of the pandemic, we lost a family member and our time was committed in unexpected ways. Despite the unexpected, including moving two homes, I kept returning. I kept coming back. The structure and coaches encouraged resilience and commitment, not shame. EPM, Marisa and coaches over-deliver every time. I love the structure of 3 calls per week, and I'd love to continue and receive that support again. Marisa is brilliant and I appreciate her help with my mission statement. It's my personal mission to work with her again. She sets the bar high, and has chosen a team that doubtless makes her proud: from the customer service reps to the coaches. Coaches Emily and Matthew carefully curated and brought it home every "Get it Done Friday", and Emily generously offered more and more value weekly. I can't say enough good about coach Debra: she's a ninja with messaging and holds a loving, supportive and effective container for her students. It was her belief in me that kept me coming back every week.

I already had clients who were interested in having me develop their key leaders through some type of training, but I did not have anything formal to offer other than individual or group coaching. I knew I needed to develop something that I can eventually scale, but did not know the process to follow that would work best. I joined EPM to help me learn an engaging, modernized approach that would help me structure my offering and test it with clients. I realized that I can move forward without having my program fully developed. I am just launching my EP and look forward to co-creating with my clients as I go.

Your PROVED CONCEPT Story
I was sitting on some really powerful content that I wanted to create a group course with for 2 years. I made some attempts to organize it into something I could launch, but in truth I just didn't have the guidance and structure I needed to get it done. I joined EPM and was truly floored by the quality of the content and support I received. The course I created in EPM is exponentially better than anything I could have ever created on my own. What I realized is that there's no way I could have known how to do this on my own and make it the exceptional quality offering that I wanted it to be. It wasn't always easy, but I had the support and structure I needed to keep going a little at a time when the going got tough. When I followed the steps Marisa laid out, I got it done and launched something I'm really proud of. I only launched a week ago and I already hit my goal for registrations and earnings, and am set up to enroll a whole lot more in the future.
